Derailment snaps Sylhet's rail links with other parts of country
Sylhet's rail communication with other parts of the country remained suspended since Sunday noon after the derailment of three containers of an oil-laden tanker at Shahjibazar Rail Station in Sayestaganj upazila of Habiganj.
Mushfique Hossain, assistant station master of Sayestaganj Junction, said three containers of Sylhet-bound oil tanker from Akhaura in Brahmanbaria veered off the track near Shahjibazar Rail Station, halting train movement of Sylhet with other parts of the country.
Two passenger trains and a freight train got stranded in different rail stations, he said.
A relief train from Akhaura left for Habiganj to remove the derailed containers.-UNB
