Two 'robbers' lynched in Narsingdi

Two suspected robbers have been beaten to death and another injured by an angry mob in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district.

Among the deceased, one was identified as Sohel, 30, from Kuliarchar upazila of Kishoreganj district.

Quoting locals, police said a group of 10/15 robbers stormed the houses of Borhan, Golzar and Kanzan in Mugrib village around 3am on Wednesday to commit robbery.

Sensing their presence, the householders informed the neighbours about this over phone, and it was also announced from the mosque microphone.

Later, the villagers caught three robbers and gave them a good thrashing but the rests managed to flee.

Being informed, police went to the spot and recovered two dead bodies as well as rescued one Manik.

Shibpur Police Station officer in-charge (investigation) Abul Kalam said deceased Sohel was a member of inter-district robber gang. 

They were informed about five cases filed against Sohel on charges of murder, women repression and robbery, Kalam added.
