Youth to die for killing school girl in Gazipur

A Gazipur Court on Sunday convicted a youth and sentenced him to death for killing a school girl in 2015.

The convict was identified as Bikram Sarkar alias Bijoy Sarkar, 25, son of Rampadh Sarkar hailing from Kanchanpur village in Kaliakor upazila of the dictrict.

The court also fined the convict tk 10,000.

According to the prosecution, Bikram hacked Kobita Dash, 14, a class ten student of local Bijoy Shoroni High School to death as Kabita refused Bikram’s emotional proposal on October 13, 2015.

Sagor Moni Dash, father of the victim filed a case against Bikram with Kaliakor Police Station on the day.

After examining 15 witnesses and all the records District and Session Judge AKM Enamul Haque handed down the verdict.
