Key accused arrested in Lalmonirhat mob killing

Members of Detective branch of police arrested the key accused early Saturday in connection with the brutal killing of Abu Yunus Md Shahidunnabi Jewel.
DMP’s media and public relations department confirmed the matter to the journalists, but they didn’t disclose identity of the arrestee.
Further details regarding the arrestee will be disclosed later, said police.
With this, police so far arrested 24 people in the incident.
On October 29, Jewel was beaten to death by an angry mob at the Burimari Union Parishad premises in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The mob then took his body some 300 metres away to the Prothom Bashkol area on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway and set it on fire, fuelled with dried materials, tyres, and petrol.
