Bangladesh Covid-19 deaths exceed 6000

The number of deaths from coronavirus surpassed 6000 in Bangladesh on Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours, 21 more COVID-19 were recorded, taking the total to 6,004. 

During the period, the country also reported 1,517 more the virus cases. With this, a total of 4,14,164 people, so far, caught the virus in the country.

Of the total patients, 3,31,697 recovered, with 1,910 made recovery in the last past day.

The daily count came from test of 13,914 more samples. As of today, the number of total sample test stood at 23,89,677.

Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.

Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.

As of Wednesday, the epidemic infected 47,930,551 people and killed 1,221,910 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 34,403,206 across the world.
