Charges framed against DIG Mizan, 3 others
A Dhaka court has framed the charges against four accused, including suspended deputy inspector general (DIG) of Police Mizanur Rahman in a case filed for amassing illegal wealth.
Judge Asifuzzaman of Dhaka’s Special Judges Court-6 passed the order on Tuesday.
Meer Ahmmed Salam, lawyer of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier on September 2, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes ordered the case to be transferred to the court and fixed September 24 for hearing the charges.
ACC Director Monjur Morshed on January 30 filed the charge sheet against four including DIG Mizan, his wife Rotna, brother Mahbubur Rahman and nephew Mahmudul Hasan for concealing information about wealth of Tk 3.07 crore and amassing illegal wealth of Tk 3.28 crore.
