Now Hindu priest gets life threat from militant

Amid the special crackdown launched on Friday against the militants after the wave of killing continues on the minority communities across the country, now a priest of Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission has received a death threat through a letter from militants on Wednesday.

Mridul Maharaj, the priest of the mission filed a general diary with Wari Police Station in this connection on Wednesday night, said Zihadul Islam, officer-in-charge of Wari Police Station.

The letter reads, ‘You are Hindus, Bangladesh is an Islamic country. You cannot preach Hindu religion in the country. Go to India. Otherwise, you will be hacked to death’.

The letter was sent reportedly by one AB Siddique of the Islamic State Bangladesh chapter from Chourasta Eidgaon market in Gazipur, the OC added.

Security has been beefed up at the mission following the death threat.
