Bus strike in Northern region enters 9th day

Bus services on highway remain suspended in the routes of the three district of northern region for the nine consecutive days on Wednesday.

Sources said bus drivers and helpers of Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh called an indefinite strike on June 7 for demanding appointment and to raise salaries according the government rule.

No long distance buses were seen plying the roads of the district after the strike started.

Four associations of Road Transport Owners-Workers of Northern Region backed the strike.

Workers leaders said that the strike will be run until their demand fulfilled.
