Biman’s Sylhet-London-Sylhet flight inaugurated

Biman Bangladesh Airlines today inaugurated Sylhet-London-Sylhet direct flight.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali inaugurated the flight at Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed and CAAB Chairman Air Vice-Marshal Mafidur Rahman were present among others during this time.

Earlier on September 16, a virtual meeting was held between Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and UK’s Department for Transport (DfT) to finalize the direct flights on the Sylhet-London-Sylhet route.

In the meeting, CAAB proposed to DfT about resumption of direct flights on the Sylhet-London route while appraising the UK team regarding the steps, and preparations taken by the Bangladeshi aviation authority to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Following the meeting, Biman received permission from the DfT and CAAB to operate direct flights from Sylhet to London.
