R2P organizes online workshop on “dialogue for peace”
Voluntary and research organization R2P (Right to Peace) successfully organized an online workshop titled “dialogue for peace” on Friday.
It was a specialized workshop for the volunteers of R2P. The organization celebrated “Peace Week 2020” from 18 to 25 September with different events including this workshop.
The slogan for this workshop was “unity without uniformity, Diversity without Fragmentation.” In this workshop, 71 young volunteers learned about the practical use of dialogue, the ways dialogue can resolve conflict and build peace in society, and different ground rules of dialogue.
Dr. Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate professor of Peace and Conflict Studies department of University of Dhaka, chaired the workshop.
Mohammad Main Uddin, Lecturer of International Relations of Bangladesh University of Professionals, and Ruhi Rusaba Jahwa Jahan, Volunteer of R2P and “WOSM Messengers of Peace Hero 2019” award winner, trained the youths as the facilitators. R2P volunteer Mahabuba Islam Meem anchored the programme.
R2P started their journey to unite promising youths to organize different social awareness and development-oriented events. The organization arranged a social awareness campaign last March titled “Dengue Free Dhaka” to increase awareness against dengue. The organization also held a cloth distribution campaign for the lower-earning people.
Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, R2P organized a relief distribution campaign to help and stand beside poor and lower-income people of the society under the banner of “Ramadan Peace Campaign 2020.”
