Sheikh Hasina emphasizes on regional peace
Describing terrorism as a great threat for regional peace, security and development Prime Minister Sheikh Hsaina on Wednesday said all nations of South Asia can work together to establish peace in the region.
Terrorism, the main threat of world peace has also developed in South Asia and it can hinder peace, development and security of the region, she said these in the parliament in her answer of a question asked by Awami Parliament Member AFM Bahauddin, in a question-answer session in the morning.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, father of the nation had uphold the concept of regional diplomacy for the first time, in his speech in a banquet party which was organized for Indira Gandhi, then prime minister of India on February 6, 1972, she said. And the concept of regional peace was laid in his statement, she added.
We can assure that Bangladesh will live peacefully with the neighbors to ensure regional peace, the prime said in her answer.
