Minimum Fitra fixed at Tk 65

Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 65 per head this year.

The Islamic Foundation has fixed the amount at a meeting on Wednesday.

Director of the foundation Abdus Salam confirmed the information to the reporters after the meeting.

Per person Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 65 and maximum Tk 1,650 this year taking into account the market prices of wheat, dates and other items.

Fitra is ‘wajib’ for all members of a family and should be paid to the poor before the Eid Jamaat. It can be given in cash or kind.
