Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today, reports BSS.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Rajshahi division and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the northern part of the country,” said a met office bulletin here today.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius at Tarash on Rajshahi and today’s lowest temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 204 millimeters (mm) at Dinajpur.

The sun sets at 5.59 pm today and rises at 5.46 am tomorrow in the capital.
