Dacoit stabs ASI

A police officer was stabbed by dacoit during a drive at Wabda slum area of Jhikargacha in Jessore in the early hours of Tuesday.

The injured man is Touhidul Islam, 45, Assistant Sub Inspector of Police.    

The police officer was admitted to Jessore 250 bedded general Hospital in a critical condition. 10 people were detained in this connection.

Officer-in-charge of Jhikargacha Police Station Molla Khabir Ahmed said, police was conducting a drive at Jhikargacha Wabda slum area to detain the members of dacoit gang. At this time ASI Touhidul detained a dacoit but he managed to flee away after stabbing him.
