DU ex-VC Moniruzzaman dies

Former vice chancellor of Dhaka University Moniruzzaman Miah was died at Square Hospital in Dhaka on Monday noon at the age of 83.

BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia expressed her deep shock at the death of Moniruzzaman.

Professor Moniruzzaman Miah was born in 1935 in Murshidabad District of West Bengal, India, and had done his masters in Geography from Rajshahi University.

He had obtained his Ph.D from Paris-Sorbonne University, France, later on.

The namaz-e-janaza of late Miah will be held today after Asr prayers at Azad Mosque in Gulshan-2 and will be buried at Banani graveyard thereafter.
