Sahed placed on 6-day remand in fraud case

A Dhaka court has placed the chairman of Regent Group and Regent Hospital Md Sahed alias Sahed Karim on a 6-day remand in a fraud case filed with Pallabi Police Station.  

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman on Wednesday passed the order after the investigation officer of the case produced him before the court with 10-day remand prayer. 

Earlier on August 10, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Imrul Kayes placed him on 7-day remand in a case filed for misappropriating Tk 2.71 crore from Farmers Bank.

On July 15, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Sahed from Shakhra Komorpur border in Debhata upazila of Satkhira on charge of issuing fake Covid-19 certificates and brought to Dhaka by a helicopter.
