NID card not mandatory for train journey

The Railways ministry has cancelled its previous decision of carrying the National Identity (NID) card mandatorily during the train journey.

Besides, maximum four train tickets for a family could be purchased by showing one NID card.

Md Shariful Alam, Senior Information Officer of the Railway ministry, confirmed the new decision to Jago News.

On August 13, the Railways ministry in a public notice urged the travelers to carry the NID card during the train journey.
