Govt reduces coronavirus testing fee

The government has reduced the fee for testing coronavirus.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque said in a press briefing at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Patients will have to pay Tk100 instead of Tk200 per test at hospital and Tk 300 per test will be taken if samples are given from home, which was previously Tk 500, said the minister. 

Earlier on June 29, the government set fees, Tk 200 and Tk 500, for Covid-19 testing which were earlier free under the state-owned facilities.
