Bangladesh sees 30 more Covid-19 deaths

In the past 24 hours, Bangladesh recorded 1,356 more coronavirus cases and 30 new deaths from the virus.

With this, a total of 2,42,102 people caught coronavirus and 3,184 died from the virus, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The daily count of new cases and deaths was found after testing 4,249 samples across the country in last 24 hours. So far, 11,93,544 samples were tested in the country.

DGHS additional director general prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin today.

Some 1,37,905 coronavirus patients have, so far, made recovery, with 1,066 recovered in the past day, the official said.

Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.

Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.

As of Monday, the epidemic infected 18,247,451 people and killed 693,003 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 11,454,254 across the world.
