Fire breaks out at Mirpur slum

A fire broke out in a slum in Bhashantek area of capital Dhaka's Mirpur on Thursday evening.

The fire originated at Jamalkot slum around 6:40pm, Ziaur Rahman, duty officer at control room of Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed.  

Being informed, 10 units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in around an hour's efforts, he said.

No casualty and amount of loss in the incident could not be known immediately, the official added.
