37 militants detained in 24 hours

At least 37 militants have been detained across the country in 24 hours after beginning the anti-militant drives over police superintendent’s wife killing.

Public Relations officer of Police headquarters Kamrul Ahsan said that 37 militants were detained from different parts of the country from Friday morning to Saturday morning.

27 of 37 are the members of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), 7 are the members of Jagrata Muslim Janata and 3 others identity are unidentified, he added.

15 cocktails, shooter gun and 500 grams gun powder have been recovered from their possession, said Kamrul.

However, Chittagong Metropolitan Police commissioner Iqbal Bahar claimed that police have arrested the mastermind of police superintendent’s wife murder.
