Shahabuddin Medical MD Faisal arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Faisal Al Islam, 34, Managing Director of Shahabuddin Medical College Hospital for conducting coronavirus tests without approval and scamming patients with wrong treatment. 

Faisal, also elder son of the hospital’s chairman Md Shahabuddin, was arrested from a hotel in Banani, RAB’s Legal and Media Wing confirmed the arrest at 11:51pm on Monday.

Earlier, RAB filed a case against Faisal as well as Assistant Director Dr Abul Hasnat and Inventory Officer Shariz Kabir Shadik. 

The accused list includes four or five unnamed people too. 

Dr Abul Hasnat and Shariz Kabir Shadik were arrested on Sunday during a raid at the hospital.

RAB officials said the hospital had been treating Covid-19-negative people as Covid-19 patients, to draw massive amount of bills, and they had also been charging excessive money from patients.
