COVID negative certificate mandatory to depart country
Bangladesh on Sunday decided that none of its citizen would be allowed to leave the country without having a COVID-19 negative certificate from government authorized coronavirus testing centers.
The decision was taken at a virtual inter-ministerial meeting chaired by foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, a foreign ministry press release said.

The meeting recommended uploading all COVID-19 negative certificates on the website of respective authorized coronavirus testing authorities so that immigration officers can check its authenticity before allowing anyone to leave the country.
Besides, the meeting decided to set up a coronavirus testing facility dedicating for those who are intend to go abroad for employment under the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry.
Health and family welfare minister Zahid Malek, expatriate welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmad and state minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam attended the meeting.
Secretaries of the ministries for foreign affairs, civil aviation and tourism and expatriate welfare and overseas employment also joined the virtual meeting.
