3 Rohingyas killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’

Three Rohingya people were killed in an alleged gunfight with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Cox’s Bazar early Thursday.

The incident took place at Tulatuli area under Rajapalong union in Ukhiya upazila of the district around 4am. 

The deceased were identified as Nur Alam, 45, Md Hamid, 25, and Nazir Hossain, 25. All of them were inhabitants of different camps in the area.

BGB claimed that they all were the drug dealers. A total of 3 lakh pieces of yaba pills and some arms were recovered from their possession. 

Confirming the matter, BGB Cox’s Bazar 34 Commanding Officer Lt Col Ali Haider, said further details regarding their matter will be disclosed at press briefing.
