2 lakh foreign citizens dodge tax

Though the National Board of Revenue (NBR) is thought to bring down tax dodges at zero level, but about two lakhs foreigners dodged tax every year, an intelligence report of police said.

According to intelligence report of police there are 2, 21559 foreigners have been living the country in those only 10,000 paid their income taxes properly.

Sources of NBR and Home Minster wishing anonymity said NBR is going to deploy two income tax detective cells in Shahjalal and Shah Amanat International Airport to reduce foreigner’s tax dodges.

Three steering committees led by NBR chairman have been formed in these regards where representatives of Home Ministry, Special Branch of Police, FBCCI and detectives braches were included, said the sources.

This committee will conduct drives against the foreign tax dodgers.
