Another held over SP’s wife killing

Another person was held by police in connection with the murder of police official’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu on Wednesday morning.

The detainee is Abu Nosor Gonnu, 45, son of late Mofazzel Hossain. He is a former member of Chhatra Shibir and an accused in a murder case.

CMP Additional Commissioner (crime and operation) Debdas Bhattacharya confirmed the matter.

Gonnu was detained in a special drive conducted in Forhadabadh under Hathazari upazila, said Debdas.

Police detained four people in connection with the murder on June 6.

Mitu, 32, wife of Babul Akter who was recently promoted to superintendent of police, was killed in the port city’s GEC area on Sunday.
