Dacoit killed in Jessore ‘gunfight’

A dacoit was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police on Jessore-Magura highway near at Syngenta office of Panchbaria in Jessore early Wednesday. 

The deceased identity could not be known immediately. Police recovered arms and bullets from the spot.

Officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Model Thana Elias Hosen said that, a gang of robbers were taking preparation to commit robbery keeping a tree on the Jessore-Magura highway.

Being informed, police raided the spot and the dacoits fired on them. In reply, police also shot on them. Later police recovered a dead body of a dacoit and a pipe gun and one round bullet.
