HC rejects Shafik Rehman’s bail

The high court on Tuesday has rejected Shafik Rehman’s bail over the alleged attempt to abduct and murder Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT affairs adviser of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Barrister Ehsanur Rahman confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.

The HC bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan passed the order after hearing a petition filed by Shafik’s counsels seeking bail for him.

Earlier on April 16, another Dhaka court rejected his bail petition and placed him on a five-day remand.

It is mentionable that detectives arrested Shafik Rehman, former editor of the Bangla daily Jaijaidin, from his Eskaton Garden residence in the city.
