Another teacher arrested for allegedly defaming Nasim
Another university teacher has been arrested for allegedly defaming former health minister Mohammad Nasim, who recently died from coronavirus.
The arrestee is Kazi Jahidur Rahman, an Assistant Professor of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Rajshahi University.
Police arrested him from his residence on Wednesday midnight.
Asaduzzaman, Assistant Sub Inspector of Motihar Police Station, confirmed his arrested to Jago News on Thursday morning.
He said, the university teacher has been arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act. Advocate Tapas Kumar Saha, a resident of the city, filed the case against him on Wednesday night.
Earlier on June 13, Sirajam Munira, lecturer of Bengali department of Begum Rokeya University, was arrested for allegedly defaming Nasim. Later, the university administration suspended her temporarily.
