Toddler dies from Covid-19 in Naogaon

An eighteen-month-old boy has died from COVID-19, the disease caused by novel coronavirus, in Porsha upazila of Naogaon.

The deceased was the son of Abu Sufian, a resident of Nitpur Diarapa village in the upazila.

The toddler passed away at Naogaon Sadar Hospital around 10pm on Tuesday, Porsha Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Mahbub Hasan confirmed.

A few days ago, parents of the child brought him to Porsha Upazila Health Complex with pneumonia, Mahbub said.

Later he was taken to Naogaon Sadar Hospital following deterioration of his condition where he tested positive for COVID-19 on June 14, the physician added.

Follwoing the child caught the lethal virus, his family members were kept in isolation at home, and their samples were collected for test but the reports have yet to come, Dr Mahbub also mentioned.
