13 lower court judges among 39 infected with coronavirus

Thirteen judges, twenty-six officers and employees of different lower courts across the country have been infected with coronavirus so far. 

Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Spokesperson of the Supreme Court and Special Officer, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday.

The Chief Justice talked with the corona infected judges and also asked the concerned districts’ judges to take necessary steps for the treatment of the 26 officers and employees, he said.

He said, 13 judges and 26 officers and employees of different lower courts have been infected with coronavirus during discharging their duties. 

Four judges are also in isolation with coronavirus symptoms and Lalmonirhat Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Ferdous Ahmed is in Intensive Care Unit of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. He has been given plasma therapy, he also said.

Besides, Judge Begum Shamim Ahmed of Dhaka Special Judge Court-8 is also receiving coronavirus treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Saifur added.
