15000 win battle against coronavirus in 24hrs

In the span of more than three months, 18,730 people recovered from coronavirus in Bangladesh but the country declared 15,297 recovery from the disease in a single day.

Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of DGHS, on Monday came up with the biggest figure so far in regular health bulletin on coronavirus.

She said, "Today we say much more COVID-19 patients' recovery than that of yesterday because out of them some were declared by hospital and some others made recovery at home and had no symptoms.  IEDCR provided us the data."

At the online briefing, the Directorate General of Health Services official said 3,099 people newly contracted the leath virus and 38 more died.

With this, the number of infections and fatalities in the country stood at 90,619 and 1209 respectively.

Bangladesh first confirmed its coronavirus cases on March 8 and since then it has been seeing a sharp rise in both infections and deaths.
