Vacant Mouchak Market: HC

The High court here on Monday ordered to Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha and secretary of housing and public works ministry to vacate Mouchak Market at Malibagh till is renovated as per Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) recommendation.

The High Court bench comprising by Justice Quamrul Islam Siddiqui and and Justice Rajik Al Jalil passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by the building owner Ashraf Kamal Pasha.

The RAJUK had asked the building owner to renovate the market after evacuating it considering risks.

The High Court on Monday also issued a ruling, asking why BUET’s recommendations to repair the market should not be declared illegal.
