Record number of police catch coronavirus in 24hrs

Bangladesh police force witnessed the biggest daily jump of 324 coronavirus cases on Thursday as the infections in the force kept rising significantly. 

The deadly virus, so far, infected 5,831 personnel, and killed 17, said the sources in police headquarters.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 1777 cops contracted the virus.

A total of 2122 police members recovered from COVID-19. 

Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.

The country recorded 57,563 coronavirus cases and 781 deaths from the pathogen. However, 12,161 people recovered from the virus till date.
