Lightning kills 6 in 4 districts
Six people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in four northern districts on Monday.
Three people died after being struck by thunderbolt in Tetulia and Boda upazilas in Panchagarh thiss afternoon, citing Sadar Hospital medical officer Dr Atahar Siddiqui, our the district correspondent said.
They were identified as Mohammad Ali, 55, his son Anisur Rahman, 35, of Tetulia, and Ripon Islam, 14, of Boda.
Our Nilphamari correspondent said a man was killed and three others received as lightning struck them in Sadar upazila this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mojidul Islam, 35, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Mominul Islam confirmed.
A farmer lost his life after thunderbolt hit him during storm in Khansama upazila of Dinajpur, quoting Khamarpara Union Parishad chairman Sazedul Haque Sazu, our the district correspondent said.
A teenage boy was killed by lightning strike in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj today, citing Shialkot Union's 6 no. ward former UP member Hazray Ali, said our the district correspondent.
