26 Bangladeshis killed in Libya: Case filed in Bhairab, 1 arrested
A case has been filed with Bhairab Police Station in Kishoreganj over the killings of 26 Bangladeshis in Libya.
Mobarak Hossen, elder brother of deceased Saddam Hossen, filed the case against seven to eight people on Sunday noon.
Tanjirul, a human trafficker is the main accused in the case. His elder brother Md Baharul Alam was arrested after filing the case.
Md Shahin Miah, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Police Station, said a case has been filed under the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act. Different intelligence agencies including CID and DB are investigating the case under the direct supervision of Police Headquarters.
On May 28, 26 Bangladeshi nationals were gunned down and some others injured in a gun attack by the kidnappers in Libya. Of them, seven deceased and three injured were from Bhairab.
