Failure to get GPA-5 forces girl to 'kill self'

A teenage girl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Gosairhat upazila of Shariatpur after being failed to attain GPA-5 in the SSC examination.

Deceased Mosadima Rahman Barsha, 17, was the daughter of Abdul Motin Sarker, a resident of Batna village in the upazila. She took part in SSC exam this year from Idilpur Government Pilot High School. 

Gosairhat Police Station officer in-charge Molla Saheb Ali said Barsha hanged herself from the ceiling fan in their house around 10:45am.

They were informed that the girl could not achive GPA-5 in the Secondary School Certificate that led her to take own life, the OC added. 

Idilpur Government Pilot High School headmaster Emdadul Haque said Barsha was a good student and gained 4.50 point in results published today.
