Bride, her father among 4 die in boat capsize

A bride, her father and two others have died in a boat capsize in the Dharla river in Ulipur pazila of Kurigram district.

The divers recovered their bodies from the river between Thursday morning to afternoon, Ulipur Police Station officer in-charge Moazzem Hossain confirmed.

The deceased were identified as Amena Begum, Nur Islam, Kamruzzaman, and Nuru Mia. 

Locals said around 40/50 people were returning to Kashimbazar from Satvita on boat on Wednesday evening. At one stage, the boat capsize and four went missing.

Rangpur and Kurigram Fire Service and Civil Defense assistant deputy director Monoranjan Sarker said three team of drivers retrieved the bodies in about four hours' operation.
