Coronavirus cases in police force keep rising
Bangladesh police members are being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at alarming rate, with 104 more ones caught the disease in the past 24 hours.
With this, the number of coronavirus-infected cops stood at 2,661 and deaths nine as of Monday, according to the data provided by the force's different units.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 1097 personnel contracted the virus.
A total of 410 police members, so far, recovered from the epidemic.
Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.
Today the country recorded 1602 coronavirus patients, the biggest daily jump in infections, making the total 23,870, and 349 so far died from the virus.
