Ninth member of police die from COVID-19

Ninth member of Bangladesh Police died from coronavirus on Monday morning.

The deceased Mujibur Rahman, hailing from Sirajganj, was a Sub Inspector of Special Branch of Police.  

He breathed his last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Rajarbag Central Police Hospital at 8:50am, said Hasanul Haider, Deputy Inspector General and Director of the hospital.    

According to the source, Rahman was admitted to the Impulse Hospital in the capital on May 11 after he tested positive for the virus. He was shifted to the ICU of the police hospital after his health condition deteriorated where he died today.

To be noted, 175 more members of police have been infected with the virus, raising the total number to 2,557.
