First coronavirus death recorded in Manikganj

A 50-year-old woman has become the first person in Manikganj to die from coronavirus.

Resident of Gopinathpur village in Harirampur upazila, the woman breathed his last at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier on May 8, she was admitted at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka with respiratory problems. Later, she was diagnosed with the virus.

Harirampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabina Yeasmin confirmed about the death.

Meanwhile, civil surgeon Dr Anwarul Amin Akhand said eight people newly caught the deadly disease in past 24 hour in the district.

With this, a total of 40 COVID-19 patients contracted the pathogen.
