Police force see biggest daily jump in coronavirus cases

Bangladesh police members are being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at alarming rate, with the force's biggest daily jump in infections.

In the past 24 hours, 241 policemen across the country tested poitive for the deadly virus.

With this, the number of coronavirus-infected cops stood at 2,382 and deaths seven as of Saturday, according to the data provided by the force's different units.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 1041 personnel caught the virus.

A total of 361 police members, so far, recovered from the epidemic. 

Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.

Today the country recorded 930 coronavirus patients, making the country's total 20,995, and 314 sof far died from the virus.
