Govt extends general holidays till May 30
The government has extended the ongoing general holidays till May 30 to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.
The ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Thursday.
Vehicles of emergency services including electricity, water, gas, fire service, cleaning, telephone and internet will be out of purview of the restrictions. Besides, same order will be applicable for vehicles carrying agricultural goods, fertilizers, food, medicine and other daily essentials.
Earlier on March 23, the government initially declared a 10-day shutdown, effective from March 26 to April 4, later gradually extended it till May 16.
