National Bank’s Tk 80 lakh missing from microbus

As much as Tk 80 lakh of National Bank Limited went missing when several crores of taka of the bank were being taken to Motijheel from Old Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

Police detained four people in a case filed with Kotwali Police Station in this regard. They are an executive officer, a driver and two security guards.

Senior Executive Vice President of Dilkusha branch of the bank, filed the case, said Nur Alam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station (investigation).

When contacted, Md Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said: “Several crores of taka were being taken to Motijheel collecting from different branches of the bank in old part of Dhaka through a microbus. When the microbus reached at Babubazar, people on board the microbus saw that one of the bags went missing. There were Tk 80 lakh in the bag.”

He also said, police took the four staffs of the bank, who were in the microbus, in their custody.
