Number of coronavirus-positive police rises to 1285
The members of Bangladesh police are being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) significantly, with 95 more caught the virus in the past 24 hours.
As of Thursday, 1285 cops tested positive for the deadly virus and six died, according to the data provided by the force's different units.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 666 personnel contracted the virus.
Some 1089 police members were kept in isolation on suspicion of having coronavirus, and 2,689 more quarantined for coming in contact with them.
Some 93 cops, however, recovered from the epidemic.
Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.
Today the country recorded 706 coronavirus patients, taking the total to 12,425, and total deaths 186.
