Police constable commits suicide in capital

A policeman committed suicide jumping from roof of a five-storey building in the capital’s Khilgaon on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Tofazzol Hossen, a constable of Special Branch of Police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, confirmed the death to Jago News.

“He (Tofazzol) was tested negative for coronavirus on April 29. But he told his wife he might be infected with the virus and became frustrated,” the OC added.
