DSCC official dies from coronavirus
An official of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has died from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Khandaker Millatul Islam, waste management officer, breathed his last at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday with the virus symptoms.
After his death, sample was examined and the report came positive for the virus on Saturday, DSCC PRO Uttam Kumar Roy confirmed.
DSCC mayor condoled the death of Millat and expressed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.
Bangladesh first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8. Since then the country has been witnessing increase in the infections and deaths.
Some 4,998 people contracted the novel coronavirus and 140 died from the virus in the country as of Saturday.
