Gonoshasthaya Kendra has handed over the COVID-19 testing kit -- GR COVID-19 Dot Blot -- to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for feedback.

CDC is the leading national public health institute of the United States. It is a United States federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services, and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

The handover ceremony was held at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the capital’s Dhanmondi around 11am on Saturday.

Despite the invitation, no government agency attended there to receive the kits.

Expressing sorrow, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury told Jago News that, the Director General of Drug Administration informed me over phone that they could not come here. I don’t know why they didn’t come.

“We also requested the Health Minister three days ago to attend the programme but didn’t get any reply. We also invited Armed Forces Institute of Pathology but they didn’t get permission to come here,” he added.
