Four of a family contract coronavirus in Tangail

A total of five people, including four members of a family, were newly infected with the novel coronavirus in Tangail.

With this, the virus cases in the district stood at 21, civil surgeon Dr Mohammad Wahiduzzaman confirmed on Friday.  

Samples from 113 people of different upazilas of the district were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Thursday. Of them, five got positive results of the coronavirus, he said.

He also said, the all newly infected people are in their respective houses. Four of them are the inhabitants of Sakhipur and one is the inhabitant of Gopalpur.

So far, a total of 1,044 samples have been examined from the district. Two more people have recovered from the disease and one person died while undergoing treatment, he added.
