10 killed in Bogra road crash

Ten people were killed and 25 others injured in a fatal road crash at Dhonkundi area on Dhaka-Bogra Highway in Sherpur upazila early Friday.

Dewan Sohel Rana, officer of Sherpur Fire Station said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound stone laden truck collided with a Gaibandha-bound passenger bus of ‘Rekha Enterprise’ at the area around 6.30am, leaving Shamim Hossain, 42, hailing from Nawabpur upazila of Dinajpur district and driver of passenger bus, Nazmul Haque Sarkar, 35, Parvez Alam, 40, hailing from Khodda Madubpur village in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur, Sarwar Hossain, 35, son of Azizar Rahman hailing from Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat, Benzir Rahman, 36, a resident of Gopalpur village in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur, Bhola Mia, 42, driver of stone laden truck and 2 other unidentified people dead on spot and other 27 critically injured.

Police with the help of locals rescued the injured and sent them Bogra Medical College Hospital two other people succumbed their injuries.

Officer-in charge of Sherpur Police Satiation Irfan confirmed the incident.
